Unfortunately, it is very likely the only time you will see them. I continue to strive to include diversity in my book lists, book recommendations, and on the shelves of my own school library. Here is a list of newly released books written by #ownvoices black authors as well as from the African diaspora. As you will notice I purposefully avoided books that talked about the Civil Rights Movement, slavery, and sports because these books are the first books that are pulled for this month.
